Dorcas Quilting Ministry
Our Mission
Our mission is to reach out with God’s love and His word to those in need. Each quilt has a hand embroidered scripture block as its focus. 1 Timothy 6:18 tells us we should be rich in good works and generous to those in need, always being ready to share with others. Therefore our quilts cannot be purchased, but are given as gifts. It is our prayer that the recipients of these quilts will experience God’s love and comfort.
The quilting ministry was birthed in a small prayer group many years ago and has given hundreds of quilts yearly to people in need. These quilts are given to Christian ministries in Minnesota, around the world, and to baptized children at Discover Church as well as others in need, like victims of a fire, etc. Youth mission trips have also distributed them. You do not need to know how to quilt or sew to participate. If you’re looking for a place to teach your children or grandchildren about volunteering and giving come join us on a Thursday evening. Perhaps your child needs to fulfill a requirement for school to participate in a volunteer program – this could be a wonderful option. |
