The vision of inviting everyone to discover their full life in Christ fuels my daily enthusiasm, with the expectation of more hearts awakening to God's life-changing love in Jesus. My deep desire is to see Discover Church fully embrace its divine purpose, becoming a vessel for God's irresistible love to touch and empower every individual we encounter.
I was born and raised in the suburbs of the Twin Cities – there’s no other place I’d rather call home! I feel incredibly blessed to share my life with my wife, Sara, and our four wonderful children: Cadence, Jameson, Anders, and Vera. There’s also a couple of cats and dog that live where we live. We love music, cooking, and adventuring through life together. The north shore of Lake Superior – from Duluth to Grand Portage is our happy place!
I have been at Discover Church since 2009, where I started in Youth Ministry. Over the years, my role has changed, as my heart for this church community continues to grow. Serving as Senior Pastor is a profound honor for me. My prayer is that, as we grow in Christ together, Discover Church becomes a shining example of Christ's love—uplifting, encouraging, and supporting one another while extending a compassionate hand to those beyond our walls.
Let me leave you with one of my favorite scriptures: Philippians 4:4-8: Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
We all seem to have a human tendency to overlook the multitude of blessings in our life, and to fixate on our worries and anxiousness. I love this verse because it reminds me that, regardless of any circumstance, there is still reason to rejoice that Christ is present in our lives. My daily goal is to seek Christ in prayer and fix my thoughts on Him - the perfect example of what is true, noble, light, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent and, certainly, praiseworthy!
